Coach's Note: Sorry I didn't get more pictures of my athletes. I was busy pouring beer much of the time. But we did have fun. Hope I got a picture of you, and you had a great day.

Like, a million runners getting ready to start on West End. It really threw me for a loop that they started 15 minutes early. That shouldn't be allowed.

The difference is, the rain held off today.

Jocelyn, in the rain, nearing the finish of her first race of any kind. One year ago her husband Jonathan did his first race here, and she said "I could never do that." In this picture here, she appears to be having fun.

Ashly: My time was 2:57. The course was harder than I anticipated. After the hills from miles 17-20 I labored a bit more than I thought I would, but all in all it's a pretty good day.

Me: Was that a PR?

Ashly: Yep.

"Has anyone told you lately that you are like the fairy godfather??? I am at mile 5 starting to get tired and I hear this voice and you appear out of nowhere. The words of encouragement came at just the right time!!! I dug deep and finished in 1 hour 4 minutes. A 10:21 pace. I did the 10K in Utah last Novemeber in 1 hour 15 minutes so not bad!!! Thanks for all you do and for appearing out of nowhere and spread running dust!!
