Jessika has been training hard for this marathon, but she had one problem. Every time she tried to do a long run over 10 miles, she would get injured. I encouraged her to be patient and keep doing lots of triathlon cross training. One week before the Country Music Marathon she was discouraged....her longest run had been only 13 miles.
I knew with all her swimming, Big Spins, and running she was in great shape. We agreed to a plan where she took frequent walk breaks, and she would be dilligent with hydration and nutrition. Our friend Carla agreed to join her in the marathon attempt.
Well, she did! She is one step closer to her goal of completing an Ironman before age 30. Here are some pictures from her race. My only question, is a beer a performance enhance hydration drink?
